SUNDAY 5TH FEB – YF – I AM THE ALPHA & OMEGA

SUNDAY 5TH FEB – YF – I AM THE ALPHA & OMEGA

This Sunday we continue our I AM series. Both age groups will combine, challenged by the thought of God being both the beginning and end of all things. Where do we fit into that?

We will be thinking about how as Christians we walk the narrow path between two trees.

Intrigued?

Get along on Sunday night. Let’s have a huge turnout as we seek to be those who follow Jesus in our world. Also this Sunday night – fun game (you will love this one – trust me), interview with Myles, worship with Jonny Parkes and food after. You gotta love Sunday evenings. 8pm as usual.

19-25′s CELL GROUP PLANS THIS WEEK

CELL GROUP TOMORROW NIGHT

Cell group tomorrow night will not be as usual. Instead, I think it would be good to support the ‘Waiting on God’ evening in church.

In case you didn’t hear – this is a time for folk in Woodlands to seek God. Here’s what this weeks announcement sheet said: ‘In our ever-increasing secular world the voices we hear telling us how we are to live are the voices of men. We consider this a tragedy, especially for us Christians. We need to take stock…pause for a while…and hear the voice of God again. To that end some special times of prayer are being arranged, the first one being Wednesday 1 Feb, in church, 7:30-9pm. Please make a note and plan to be there’

I want to give you guys the chance to be part of this. I would love you to and it would massively encourage our church. Also, in light of what we’ve been studying it would be good too.

I’m going to try to pop in as soon as rugby is over.

Hope to see you there.

We will plan to have Cell back at Hags NEXT WEEK.

*YOUTH WEEKEND – IMPORTANT INFO – PLEASE READ*

Please read and take note of ALL the following:

- be at church between 6-6:15pm on Friday evening. We will be leaving 6:15pm SHARP.

What to bring (in addition to the obvious!):

- raincoat
- towel (obvious for most people!)
- Bible (if you have one) and a pen
- Some white clothing for a UV party on Saturday night! (rare, white Adidas tracksuits would go down very well…the rarer the better!)
- Bring a packet tray bakes/biscuits/sweets for the main kitchen for everyone to share
- Some spending money (£10 should be enough!)

Don’t bring:

- any bedding!! All bedding is supplied!

YOUTH WEEKEND (AND YF BACK ON!) – *PLEASE READ CAREFULLY*

After a busy but amazing summer, our annual Youth Weekend has crept up on us! The form for the weekend is available on this website (Parents page). I have also put a direct link to the form below which can be printed off – over 18′s as well as under 18′s MUST have this fully completed and returned by Sunday 11th September. I know this doesn’t leave much time…apologies!

The form requires some details. Here is what you need to fill in:

Organisation: Radiant Youth
Details of trip/outing/activity: Youth Weekend to Mill Rest Youth Hostel, Bushmills.
Date: Fri 16th Sept – Sun 18th Sept
Time: Depart 18:15pm Friday 16th
Method of Transport: Cars (bus if required)
Cost: £45 per person, £85 for two in family, £120 for three in family
Collection Arrangements: 17:00pm at Church on Sunday 18th

(Note: the price includes accommodation and all food for the weekend (except for a carryout one evening – money will be required for that). Saturday afternoon activities are not included in this price. Plans for that are yet to be confirmed but a wee bit of spending money would be recommended – £10 in total for the weekend should be well enough!)

YF will be back on this Sunday – if you want to go on the weekend it would be advisable to be there! As usual, weekend places will be allocated on a first come first served basis – no exceptions!

This will be a great way to kick off a new year within our youth ministry at Woodlands. I’m sure it’s going to be brilliant as usual…I really hope you can make plans to be there.

Thanks

Stuart

Click the link below for the weekend form. If you a printer at home please print off and fill in as above. If you can’t do this I will have copies on Sunday.

Sunnylands Summer Scheme – message from Sami

THE FOLLOWING IS FROM SAMI CULLEN WHO IS COORDINATING THE SUMMER SCHEME AT SUNNYLANDS YOUTH CENTRE. THIS MESSAGE IS FROM TUES 20TH JULY:

Sunnylands Summer Scheme has well and truly started! Our first day was yesterday and we started with 34 young people aged 7-13 attending. Today we had 46 young people through our doors! So far the atmosphere has been good, the young people have had a chance to play basketball, play unihoc, try gardening, make finger puppets and have a first trip to Carnfunnock, just to name a few….It has been encouraging to see young people build friendships and open up to each other. I am grateful for a team of Staff Volunteers who are committed to making Summer Scheme 2011 the best it can be. Thinking about you guys at New Horizon. Enjoy it, be blessed and enjoy the banter!

Over and out.

Sami

An update from the New Horizon team will follow soon!
