_student again…

stuart | February 22, 2011

snapshot_201102222 Well…here are 3 of the lads who are down in Dublin (think Neil, the fourth member of the quartet is on the phone!)  We have officially begun our Masters in Applied Theology at the Irish Bible Institute.  The module this week is ‘Enabling Leadership’.  This has been great so far…challenging, exciting, a bit tiring (not used to all this study again)…and lots and lots of reading and thinking!!!

I’m very sure that a lot of this is going to affect how I think, what I feel and also what I do…so hopefully it’s going to be of great benefit, not only to me but to all that we do at Woodlands as well!

I will try to blog some of what I learn in the coming weeks…

Until then…HELLO TO CHEAP CINEMA TICKETS AGAIN ;-)

_take heart

stuart | February 3, 2011
light1Our hearts and prayers are with the family, friends and all connected with Ben Robinson this week.   So sad, so tragic.  So many questions…without answers.  So much that we just don’t understand.  Ben’s death will also have opened wounds of loss in the lives of others who have also lost loved ones…maybe even in their prime of life too.  Two things I’ve wrestled with all week: 1 – while on earth we will never be able to understand and answer ‘why’ these things happen; 2 – I just know, deep inside, that the only place to turn (other than supportive friends/family) is to trust deeply in our God,who’s promises for us still remain…
So for all who are reading this and have been in any way affected I offer this: take heart.  Take a couple of moments now to take heart.  Listen to the song link, read the words and reflect…
I’ve also added another link at the bottom  to another song that may be worth listening to.
“/Take Heart/”
There is a light
It burns brighter than the sun
He steals the night
And casts no shadow
There is hope
Should oceans rise and mountains fall
He never fails

So take heart
Let His love lead us through the night
Hold on to hope
And take courage again

In death by love
The fallen world was overcome
He wears the scars of our freedom
In His Name
All our fears are swept away
He never fails

All our troubles
And all our tears
God our hope
He has overcome

All our failure
And all our fear
God our love
He has overcome

All our heartache
And all our pain
God our healer
He has overcome

All our burdens
And all our shame
God our freedom
He has overcome

All our troubles
And all our tears
God our hope
He has overcome

All our failures
And all our fear
God our love
He has overcome

God our justice
God our grace
God our freedom
He has overcome

God our refuge
God our strength
God is with us
He has overcome
